About Us

Background

FlaSyn3™ is an integrated system for carbon nanotube (CNT) production, developed at the High-Speed Reacting Flow Laboratory (HiREF) in Johor, Malaysia. This system offers enhanced scalability and optimization for CNT production, surpassing the capabilities of commercially available systems. By leveraging novel flame technology within a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) system, the flame-enhanced CVD achieves a balance between scalability and process control.

FlaSyn™ has been recognized with multiple awards, including Silver Medals at the Industrial Art and Technology Exhibition (INATEX) in 2019, 2020, and 2023, and the Malaysia Technological Expo (MTE) in 2021. It also has a patent application filed with MyIPO (PI2020001978).

FlaSyn3™, the third generation of the FlaSyn™ system, represents a major advancement from its predecessor. Its performance has been validated through extensive product characterization, analyzing factors such as morphology, size, crystallinity, and purity. The results show that the CNTs produced have a size range of 10-30nm, a purity exceeding 95%, and a crystallinity (ID/IG ratio) of 1.0, comparable to leading commercially available products.
